He was preceded in death by Jerry Hacker Sr and his brother Thomas Brown. Jerry passed away unexpectedly in his home on Friday, January 20, 2023.
Jerry was a special man. He was best known as “Hack”. He was loved by everyone who was lucky enough to know him. He enjoyed spending time throwing horseshoes, playing pool, darts, dominoes, and spending as much time as he could with family and friends. He was a great storyteller and always had a joke that made you laugh. He embraced life to the fullest, and always said “I’m just a simple man.”
Jerry was the proud owner of Hacker and Son Custom Painting. In recent years, his son Chase partnered with him in the family business working side by side.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Hacker, his mother, Shirley Head (Kenny Head); father, Arthur Brown (Kathleen Brown); his sister, Donna Carter (Charles Carter); his children, Caitlin Hacker (Dominique Hackett), and William “Chase” Hacker (Makala “Brie” York); granddaughter, Delilah Hackett; and step-children, Anna Shenk, and Sydney Shenk; as well as many extended family members.
Jerry will be greatly missed. His celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2023 at the Fredericksburg Moose Lodge, 11917 Cherry Rd, Fredericksburg, VA 22407.
