Jeffrey Walter Starnes' Obituary
Jeffrey W. Starnes 58, died suddenly and peacefully Friday, May 10, 2013 at Culpeper Regional Hospital with his sisters at his side.
Jeff was born in Fauquier and graduated from JEB Stuart High School in Falls Church where he excelled in track during high school and was proud of the numerous medals he received. He attended James Madison University and Germanna community college. Jeff joined the US Army in 1974 and served as a military policeman before retiring from E Systems (Raytheon) where he served as a test engineer. Jeff loved his annual trips to Myrtle Beach and riding his Harley Davidson. He was an avid Redskins fan, a fantasy football player, and a collector of sports memorabilia cards. Just before his passing, he realized his retirement dream of owning an ice cream truck business.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth P. Starnes.
He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Scott Starnes; his wife Virginia H. Starnes of 22 years until parting; his mother Elizabeth Maestri and her husband Anthony; sisters Vickie Starnes-Updike, Kristia D. Starnes, Laura Starnes and brother Kenneth P. Starnes II; 2 grandchildren Jacob and Leah Starnes and a nephew Kevin Starnes.
In addition Jeff is survived by his loving girlfriend of 10 years, Tammie Taylor and her daughter Kristie.
A service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday May 16, 2013 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery.
