Jean Harlow Sims' Obituary
Jean Harlow Sims, 89, of Culpeper, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 24, 2024. She was born May 3, 1935 to the late George Raymond Harlow and Annie Wilmetta Harlow near Philadelphia Pennsylvania.
Jean grew up in Madison Run VA, Orange County, during her teenage years and she worked with her mother at the Harlow Country Store. Jean met her husband Palmer O. Sims Jr. “PO” in 1951 and they were married for over 50 years until his death in 2004. Jean lived at The Baptist Home - The Culpeper Lifespire community for many years until she passed. Jean was a Deacon of Cedar Run Baptist Church and engaged with the Shiloh association for many years.
Jean is survived by her Four Children, Ten Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren.

Sims, III (Theresa, Nash, Haley) Shirley Marie Carpenter - Sims (Jason, Andrew, Brandon - Alexis, Emmarie, Miles) Gloria Jean Mastin (Ron, Aaron, Melanie - Arya, Cruz, Millie). Jean is survived by sister, Phyllis Tootie Knight (Hamilton, Tammy, Drema - Autumn, Hayden) and a host of extended family, friends, and wonderful caregivers at The Culpeper.
Jean retired from the Virginia State Police after 26 years of Service. 1968 to 1995
A Faithful follower of our Lord Jesus Christ and lived daily as he did, Cultivating Kindness on earth. Jean became a Friend and Angel for all whom she encountered and she advocated for Goodness for many in need and for changes to benefit all.

A memorial service will be held on July 15, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike with Pastors Brad Hale and Jeff Light officiating. Inurnment will follow at Noon at the Culpeper National Cemetery, 501 E. Chandler Street, Culpeper, VA.
