Pat and Dickie were married on April 20, 1958, and loved each other until the bitter end. Her family meant the world to her and her grandchildren were known as the apples of her eye. Pat was one of, if not, the biggest fan of Alan Jackson. She enjoyed attending his concerts and singing along. Pat was an avid shopper.
Pat is survived by her son, James Atkins (Susan); daughter, Kim Atkins; granddaughters, Ashley Artale (Jamie), Eliza Richards (Phillip), and Madelyn Atkins; great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Payton Artale; daughter-in-law, Leitha Atkins; sisters, Mary Jane Waters and Elna Beahm; sisters-in-law, Mary Alice Hoffman (Jack) and Dottie Atkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Jeremiah “Dickie” Peyton Atkins; son, Briant Atkins; her great-grandson, Liam Richards; siblings, Katherine Waters, Virginia Frazier, Lorene Dwyer, Grace Woodward, Frances Morris, Ruth Cornell, Helen Cornell, Rececca Cornell, and Samuel Cornell; brother-in-law, Donald Atkins; and sister-in-law, Betty Atkins.
A funeral service will be on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at 1p.m at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
