Janice Lucille Rector's Obituary
Janice L. Rector, 84 of Fredericksburg passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021 surrounded be her family.
Janice was a loving mother and caregiver to generations of children; be it through, caring for her nieces and nephews, caring for children in her home, the church nursery during her time working in daycare, or caring for her grandchildren. She spent her life caring for others, and was a second mother/grandmother to many. Janice was also an avid reader. She loved to get lost in her thoughts as she read her favorite authors.
Janice is survived by her three children, James T. Rector (Nona) of Fredericksburg, David M. Rector (Beth) of Ashburn, and Mary Ann Rector of Indiana. Janice also leaves behind four grandchildren, Kelly Rector, Brian Rector, Mark Rector, and Cullen Rector; a great-grandchild; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other close family members and friends.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Rector; her parents, Densil and Laura Reed; four sisters; and two brothers.
Janice’s family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22407. A funeral service in her honor will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 2, 2021 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Quantico National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Janice’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of charitable donations in Janice’s name to The American Cancer Society or to Mary Washington Hospice.
