Janice Caroline Harris' Obituary
Janice Caroline Harris, 69, of Spotsylvania County passed away Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Mary Washington Hospital. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 31, 1941.
She grew up in Washington, DC and Prince Georges County, Maryland and worked in and around the DC metro area as a bookkeeper until she became disabled. For over 30 years she endured illness and battled cancer but her faith in God was steadfast and her belief gave her an inner strength and the character to continue on with life in a manner to be cherished and admired.
Her life was devoted to loving her family and friends and she treasured each moment shared with them.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, John Lawrence Harris; her daughter, Kim Short and her husband, Tim of Richardsville; her son, Keith Watson of Alexandria; her daughter, Kay Watson of Temple Hills; three grandchildren, Jessica Clark and her husband, Rickey of Culpeper, Darrell Short and his wife, Kimberly of Lignum and Andrew Short of Richardsville; six great-grandchildren and two brothers, Raymond Rillon and his wife, Barbara Kay of Baltimore and Ralph Rillon of Annapolis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Braulio Macagba Rillon and Edna Rillon.
Janice’s family will receive friends Tuesday, July 26, 2011 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 10:00 am at the funeral chapel with Deacon Rob Borchert officiating. Interment will follow in Quantico National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Mary Washington Hospice, 5012 Southpoint Parkway, Fredericksburg, VA 22407.
