Janet E. Crockett's Obituary
Janet Crockett went home to be with the Lord on April 19, 2011 at Fauquier Hospital in
Warrenton, Virginia after a brief illness surrounded by her family.
Jan was born June 10, 1948 in Parkersburg, West Virginia to (Oliver) Zane and Dorothy
(Griswold) Logston. Jan married (Ernest) Dave Crockett of Weymouth, Massachusetts
in October 1966. They most recently lived in Bealeton, Virginia. They have two
children, Tawna (John) Low of Auburn, Georgia and Dan Crockett of Sugar Hill,
Georgia. She has one grandson Garrett Low of Auburn, Georgia. In addition she is
survived by her mother Dorothy Logston of Warrenton, Virginia.
Jan enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Those who knew her often
commented on what an amazing cook she was. Jan enjoyed doing crafts, reading,
playing card games, scrapbooking, and the company of friends and family. Jan was a
hair dresser by training and often volunteered at her church no matter where she lived.
If anyone needed someone to lean on or someone to help out Jan was almost always
the one who would ask how she could help. Jan’s compassion for others, generosity,
and huge heart will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
A memorial service for Jan will be held at Foursquare Church of the Light in Wooster,
Ohio on April 23, 2011 at 1:00. Calling hours will be at 12:00.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the Hospice of The Rapidan (in memory of Janet Crockett) PO Box 1715 Culpeper, VA 22701.
