Jane Estes' Obituary
Jane Atkins Estes, 94, of Orange, VA passed away Saturday June 25, 2016 at Dogwood Village of Orange County. She was born June 30, 1921 to the late Ashby Grover Atkins and Maggie Mae Frye Atkins in rural Rappahannock County. She is the wife to the late John Douglas Estes.
She worked as a Senior Medical Librarian for many years in Los Angeles, CA.
She is survived by two children; a daughter, Angela Marlene Estes of Urbana, IL and a son, Douglas Craig Estes of San Francisco, CA; one grandchild, Rebecca Alyssa Cerri and husband David E. Cerri of San Francisco, CA.; great- grandchild, Theodore Cosmo Cerri of San Francisco, CA.; two brothers Eugene Ashby Atkins of Valdesta, GA. and Julian Elson Atkins of Matawan, NJ.; nieces and nephews, Kyle Clements of Rockville, VA, Rae Pilgrim of Culpeper, VA, Arline Brown of Brandy Station, VA, Robert Atkins of Brandy Station, VA, and Larry Atkins of Brandy Station, VA.
Along with Jane’s parents and husband, she is preceded in death by sister, Jean Atkins and Emily Price; one sister-in-law Evelyn Estes; and brothers Kelly, James, Harrison, and Fred Atkins.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Wednesday June 29, 2016 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper. A Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Raymond Clements, David Brown, David Pilgrim, Ralph Oakes, Chris Brown, and Tim Atkins.
