James Walter Ryder's Obituary
James Walter Ryder, 68, has gone into the arms of the Lord on Monday, October 22, 2007 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. He was born October 10, 1939 in Charlottesville, VA to the late Walter and Bertha Yowell Ryder.
Mr. Ryder served his country in the United States Army. He worked for over 30 years as an iron maker at Bingham and Taylor. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing cards, and going to shooting matches. Above all he cherished the time spent with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Juanita Rebecca Ryder, his daughter, Linda Marks and her husband, Donnie of Culpeper, two grandchildren, Lance and Kasey Marks of Culpeper, two sisters, Cathy Fincham of Culpeper and Daisy Breeden and her husband, James of Unionville, two brothers, David Ryder and his wife, Linda of Etlan, and Douglas Ryder and his wife, Dorothy of Banco.
Additional survivors include two sister-in-laws, Betty Wolfrey of Louisa and Tisha Richards and her husband, James of Syria, brother-in-law, James Jenkins of Culpeper, a special friend, Karen Lynch, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brother-in-laws, John Fincham, Albert Wolfrey, and Steve Nichols, and his mother-in-law, Catherine Nichols.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 25, 2007 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 26, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Richard Wright officiating.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery (New) with military honors provided by Culpeper American Legion Post # 330 and V.F.W. Post # 2524.
Pallbearers will be Kasey Marks, Lance Marks, Delmar Richards, Randal Richards, Keith Taylor, Kevin Taylor, Dave Ryder, and Steven Ryder. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Menefee and Steven Bright
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
