James T. Kelley's Obituary
James T. “Racehorse” Kelley, 76, of Williamsburg, formerly of Culpeper entered his eternal rest on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Hospice House of Williamsburg. He was born on September 19, 1933 in Culpeper, VA to the late Charles F. Kelley and Ruth Bolen Kelley.
Mr. Kelley graduated from Culpeper County High School in 1952. He served his country for four years in the US Marine Corp and later graduated from Richmond University in 1961. Mr. Kelley worked for the Virginia Department of Transportation for over thirty years and retired in 1991 as Assistant Resident Engineer in the Williamsburg office.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Wilson Kelley, one daughter, Lisa Kelley vonGehren and her husband, Erich of Charles City, VA, two grandchildren, Nicolaus and Reinhardt, two sisters, Dorothy McWaters and Judy Kelley-Schoniwitz and her husband, Cecil, and two brothers, John Kelley and Robert Kelley and his wife, Charlotte, all of Culpeper, VA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Everett and Charles Jr., one sister-in-law, Dorothy Kelley and one brother-in-law, Carl McWaters.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 13, 2009 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper. A graveside service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery with Rev. John Farrar officiating.
