James Edward Yonts' Obituary
James Edward Yonts "Big Country", went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2022.
When James was young, he played baseball & football. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, and got very good at it over the years. He also enjoyed riding around listening to music with friends; and he truly loved his work in masonry.
James was very proud of his son & loved hearing news about his accomplishments. Country was always sure to tell his loved ones that he loved them, every time they talked.
James is survived by his son, Hunter Yonts; mother, Kathy Lawson; father, Elmer Yonts and his wife, Gail; brothers, Paul Yonts and his wife, Cristy, and Erick Lawson; sisters, Mikal Woodward and Michelle Massey; nephews, Cody Yonts & Bryson Yonts; his love & partner of 14 years, Robbin Grover; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brother Eugene Yonts; his maternal grandparents, Earl & Catherine Rogers; his paternal grandparents, SL & Virginia Yonts; and step-father, Leo Lawson.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, January 9,2023 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10,2023 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
