James Allen Whitesell's Obituary
James Allen Whitesell, of Culpeper, VA passed away on the evening of August 12, 2013 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. He was 70 years old. Jim was born on April 12, 1943 in Waynesboro, VA to the late James William Whitesell and Ellen Andrews Whitesell.
Jim graduated from Wilson Memorial High School and attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute. On August 30, 1963, he married Juanita May Daugherty, also of Waynesboro. In 2004 he retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation after 41 years of service. He attended Culpeper Baptist Church where he served in numerous roles and spent many years as a Deacon. A lifelong baseball fan, he spent over 30 years as a little league umpire in Culpeper and around the state of Virginia.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita; and three children, Christopher Scott and his wife, Sharon of Reva, VA, Terry Wayne and his wife, Brenda of Blacksburg, VA and Kimberly Ellen and her husband, Joel Cochran of Weyers Cave, VA. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Heather Cochran, Kelsey Whitesell, Justin Cochran and Erin Whitesell; and one brother, Charles and his wife, Carolyn of Waynesboro, VA.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 11 am at Culpeper Baptist Church with Pastor David Williamson officiating.
Interment will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 11 am at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro.
