James Stewart's Obituary
Lt. Col. James Howard Stewart, Retired, 82, passed away on October 15, 2007, at Mary Washington Hospital. James was born in West Virginia on June 3, 1925.
During his 30 year career in the United States Marine Corps, he served his country in 3 wars. After retiring from the Marines he continued to work at Quantico, providing a mobile snack and sandwich service for servicemen on the base.
James is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jane Lyall Stewart, of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Other survivors include daughters, Marsha Jane Stewart of Fredericksburg and Susan Alice Morgan of Alexandria; grandchildren, William Calvin Forbes of San Francisco, Sara Jane Morgan, and Adam Stewart Morgan of Alexandria; great grandchildren Zoë Frances Forbes and Ian Calvin Forbes of San Francisco.
In celebration of his life, a service will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 11:00 am at the Marine Memorial Chapel, Quantico. Burial will follow in Quantico National Cemetery.
