James Wesley Smith's Obituary
James Wesley Smith, 81, of Culpeper, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones, Wednesday, April 21, 2021. He was born June 30, 1939 in Culpeper to the late Ernest and Edith Smith.
James loved to fish and hunt. He was a lifelong excavator, and enjoyed teaching many others how to operate heavy equipment.
He is survived by two children, Sandy Wenzel and Chris Smith (Bernice Boyd); seven grandchildren, Brandon Wenzel (Adrian), Shaun Wenzel (Leslie), Justin Wenzel (Bailey), Jessica Pritt, Megan Smith, KristyOnna Smith, and Kandis Sowers (Matt); and six great grandchildren, Zoie, Kenna, Maddisyn, Reagan, Chase, and J.P.
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Smith; one daughter, Vickie Sowers; one brother, Robert Smith; and one sister, Linda Marks.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Ron Young officiating. Due to Covid-19 mandates, masks are required to enter the building. Inurnment will follow at Tutwiler Family Cemetery, 13239 Dutch Hollow Road, Culpeper, VA.
