James Edward Mastin, Sr.'s Obituary
James “Eddie” Mastin Sr., 70, of Spotsylvania County passed away Friday, May 13, 2016, while at home.
Eddie was born on July 17, 1945, and was lovingly known to his granddaughter as “Papa Smurf.” He enjoyed spending weekends camping and fishing with family and friends, and riding his golf cart at Indian Acres. Eddie especially enjoyed teaching his three great-granddaughters how to count by playing a Wii game featuring jumping cows.
Eddie leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Julia B. Mastin; a loving son, James “Jesse” Mastin Jr.; a granddaughter, Kristina N. Lanning; his loving sister, Eleanor Jean Carr of Richmond; and numerous family members and friends.
Eddie’s family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3702 Loren Drive, Fredericksburg.
