James Preston Leake Jr.'s Obituary
James Preston Leake, Jr., 69, of Sperryville, died on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Mr. Leake was born May 10, 1942 in Culpeper, VA to the late James Preston Leake, Sr. and Mamie Louise Leake.
Mr. Leake retired from Rental Uniform Service in Culpeper in 1995 after 34 years of service and from Rappahannock County in June 2011 after 16 years serving as Animal Control Officer. He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Scrabble.
Mr. Leake was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor Leake Wharton and his brother, Maury H. Browning.
He is survived by his daughter, Pamela A. Leake and her husband, Barry of Ruckersville, and his son, J. Daren Leake and his wife, Sharon of Culpeper. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Barry, Jr., Bethany and Ryan Leake of Ruckersville and Brett and Blake Leake of Culpeper.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 2, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dallas Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Expansion Fund, 19 Scrabble Rd, Scrabble, VA 22713 &/or UVA Children’s Hospital Battle Bldg., P.O. Box 400218, Charlottesville, VA 22908.
