James Albert La Claire's Obituary
James A. La Claire, 70, of Spotsylvania County passed away Monday, September 20, 2021 at his home.
James worked at Geico as a Senior Program Analyst. He served 20 years in the United States Marine Corps and retired as a Gunnery Sergeant. James was a lifelong member of Chancellor Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department in Spotsylvania, where he served for 24 years in numerous roles such as EMT, firefighter and former president.
He is survived by his sons, Robert La Claire, of Spotsylvania, and James La Claire, of Tennessee, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving extended family.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Vona Lee La Claire, his brothers, George La Claire and Ray Maher, his parents, James F. and Helen La Claire, and a daughter, Carol Lemons.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
