James Phillip King's Obituary
James Phillip King, 79, of Locust Grove, peacefully died at his home while surrounded by family and close loved ones.
James was born on February 17, 1935, in Milburn, West Virginia to the late Edwin F. and Ruth E. King.
James greatly enjoyed the outdoors. He was a farmer at heart, and often took time to sit quietly and study his bible or actively tend to the grounds of the endless nature that surrounded him. Overall his greatest feelings of contentment and overwhelming joy was spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
James is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Phillips King and six children; Phillip King and his wife Sharon of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, Pam Humphrey of Beckley West Virginia, Donna Sykes also of Beckley, West Virginia, David King and his wife Vicki of Kyle, Texas, James King and his spouse Scott Britton of Worthington, Ohio and John King and his wife Stephanie of Culpeper, Virginia. Also surviving are eighteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, two sisters; Kay White of Winfield, West Virginia and Mona Jones and her husband Fred of Delaware, Ohio, numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with the Chaplain Denise Vogt officiating and Elder David King co-officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at the Culpeper National Cemetery with military honors provided by the VFW 2524.
In lieu of Flowers memorial donations may be made in his name to the Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Pkwy #300, Charlottesville, Virginia 22911.
