James Kibler's Obituary
James Granville Kibler, 78, of Culpeper, VA, passed away on January 15, 2015 at his home. He was born on February 28, 1936 in Culpeper County to the late Andrew Jackson Kibler and Ollie Annie Kibler.
Jimmy was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He was also an avid golfer and thoroughly enjoyed an impressive collection of Civil War books and pictures. Another passion was his farm and horses.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; his son, James G. Kibler Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two daughters, Jill Woody and her husband, Mike of Elkwood, VA; and Pattie Piché and her husband, Kenny of Virginia Beach, VA; three grandchildren, Michelle Colvin of Woodville, VA, Michael Woody of Elkwood, VA and James Kibler III of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and two great grandchildren, Lucy Colvin and Riley Colvin, both of Woodville, VA.
He is also survived by a sister, Joan Cascadden and her husband, Blynn of Culpeper; as well as two brother in-laws, John Kilby and his wife Claire, and Fred and Mac Joliffe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Andrew Kibler; and four sisters, Marie Painter, Geneva Fincham, Rena Bailey and Rosalie Bixler.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper VA 22701 with Rev. Mike Dodson officiating.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 &/or the American Cancer Society, 2654 Valley Ave. Suite B, Winchester, VA 22601.
