James "Jimmy" C. Corbin Jr.'s Obituary
On Sunday night, July 16, 2023, at Culpeper Hospital, James “Jimmy” C. Corbin, Jr., 82, took the hands of the Angels and went with them to heaven. Jimmy was born on October 8, 1940, the oldest son of the late James C. Corbin and Virginia Berry Corbin in Prince William County.
Jimmy loved fishing and flying hobby planes. He retired from his job as a cement mason and was a member of the Local 891 in Washington, D.C. He and Matilda also attended Day Star Pentecostal Church in Gordonsville. VA.
He leaves his wife of 30 years, Matilda Lam Corbin; two children from a previous marriage, Vaughan A. Corbin and Tammy Bernados; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene Corbin (Joan) and Larry Corbin; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother, John E. Corbin, and one granddaughter.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with Rev. Dan Edwards and Rev. Dave Akers officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be private at a later date. Pallbearers serving the family will be Wayne Corbin, Terry Corbin, Dennis Corbin, J.J. Day, Stratford Settle, and Donald Davis.
The family wishes to thank UVA Dialysis Center in Orange, VA for the excellent care they gave him for the last seven years of his life, to Culpeper Health and Rehab for the short time he was there and the care they extended to him, and to his brother Gene who became his life line.
