James "Bee" Jameson's Obituary
James E. “Bee” Jameson was born May 1, 1937 in Culpeper, VA. He departed this earthly life April 22, 2012 surrounded by his three daughters, grandchildren and family. Bee was one of five children born to Saint E. Jameson and Elsie Tutt Jameson. One brother Michael Lynn Jameson preceded him in death.
Bee served in the U.S. Army for five years including a tour of duty in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1968.
He married Rosemary Wallace Jameson in 1965 and they were married for 35 years before she preceded him in death in 2000.
He was a master heavy equipment operator and his talented gift shaped many of the local area roads and highways in Virginia and Maryland. He took pride in his work and would tell anyone that he “liked going to work.” He would come home after working all day and say “I have to go mow some grass.” He loved working in the garden with his brothers and Lisa. He also loved playing cards with family and friends.
He was an ardent lover of horse racing and it was in his blood even til the end. The Jameson Racing Partnership afforded him many opportunities to watch his very own horses win, place and show and sometimes even come in last.
Most importantly, Bee was a family man. He loved spending quality time with his daughters and grandchildren who were the apples of his eyes. He sired a very close knit family relationship with his siblings. We remember Bee fondly as Daddy, Granddaddy, Brother, Uncle Bee, Bee and James Elmer. He will forever live in our hearts.
He is survived by three devoted daughters, Sheila Nesbitt and Richard Sr., Lisa Jameson, and Lori Carter and Jermaine Sr., six grandchildren, Jermaine Carter, Jr., Jevon Carter, Brittany Nesbitt, Richard Nesbitt, Jr., Jalen Carter and Jordan Carter; one sister, Daisy Jeffries; two brothers, Charles Jameson and Michele and Stephen Jameson; two sister-in-laws, Rev. Dr. Arlene Gordon and Jane Gordon; one brother-in-law, Clarence Wallace; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 27, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 2 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Michael Tinsley, Sr. and Rev. Dr. Arlene Gordon officiating.
Interment will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is handling the arrangements.
