James Thomas Inman's Obituary
James Thomas “Jim” Inman: beloved husband, son, brother and friend, entered into eternal life and the presence of his Lord and Savior on February 9, 2014. Jim was born on 6 March 1944 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late James Cooper Fishback and Tommie JoElla Baker Fishback.
Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served two tours in Vietnam. He was a Department of the Army civilian for over 30 years, holding senior positions in Program Management, Acquisition Policy, Logistics, Manufacturing and Production, and Quality Assurance. His civilian education included a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Central State University (Edmond, Oklahoma) and a Master of Science in Management from the Florida Institute of Technology. He was a War College graduate, receiving a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. He was also a Harvard University Senior Executive Fellow.
Jim retired from civilian service in 2005, and then moved to Culpeper, VA in 2007 with his wife Pat. He was a member and deacon at Providence Bible Church in Culpeper. He was an avid reader, stamp collector and motorcycle enthusiast, owning a Harley-Davidson 100th Anniversary Edition Softail Deuce – a red one. Jim will be missed by his family and many friends who knew him and loved him.
Jim is survived by his wife Pat of 28 years, his mother Tommie JoElla Inman of Culpeper, VA, his three brothers; Paul Inman II and his wife Cindi of Lodi, CA, Tom Inman and his wife Mel of Oklahoma City, OK and Wade Inman and his wife Carrie of Edmond, OK and four sisters Carol Stalcup and her husband Rob of Oklahoma City, OK, Nancy Smith and her husband Dave of Edmond, OK, Susie Marshall and her husband Mark of League, TX and Karen Kay Fishback of Oklahoma City, OK.
In addition to his father, Jim is preceded in death by his stepfather Paul W. Inman.
The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Friday, February 14, 2014 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A Funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the Providence Bible Church, 17211 Greens Corner Rd, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Howie Holmes officiating.
Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery with military honors provided by the VFW Post 2524.
