James William Hawkins' Obituary
James William Hawkins, 65, of Culpeper died Friday, September 16, 2016 at his home. He was born February 23, 1951 in Culpeper to the late Ray Elmo and Myrtle Louise Stanley Hawkins.
He was a medical transporter for Culpeper Memorial Hospital for many years. He was past Chief with the Brandy Station Volunteer Fire Department and was an active member of Reva Volunteer Fire Department. Jim loved farming with his brother Jack, who was his right hand man. Jim was loved by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by five siblings, Jack Hawkins and his wife, Bonnie of Rixeyville, Betty Mills and her husband, Bubba of Castleton, Brenda Woodward and her husband, Randolph of Rixeyville, Bernard Hawkins and his wife, Frances of Culpeper, and John Hawkins and his wife, Linda of Brandy Station; three stepchildren, Darlene Pullen of Culpeper, Ronnie Pullen and his wife, Peggy of Culpeper, and Vivian Sprouse and her husband, Duvall of Arrington; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Gayle Hawkins; one brother, Jerry Hawkins; and one stepdaughter, Roxanne Pullen.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lee Brown officiating.
Interment will follow in New Life Baptist Church Cemetery.
