James Otis Gray, Jr.'s Obituary
James Otis Gray, Jr., 85, of Culpeper passed away on Monday, September 16, 2019 at Novant Health UVA Health System Culpeper Medical Center. He was born May 6, 1934 to the late James Otis Gray, Sr. and Sue Emma Gray.
Otis leaves to cherish his memory his six children, Deborah McGehee (Wayne), James O. Gray, III (Janet), Michael A. Gray (Linda), Charles F. Gray (Veronica), William T. Gray and Tony N. Gray; five sisters, Mary William, Dorothy Gentry, Jennie Waters (Raymond), Lillian Gibbs, and Patsy Yates (Thomas); and two brothers, Herbert Taylor Gray and Robert Gray.
Additional survivors include ten grandchildren, Jannell McGehee, Falynn Bowles (George), Jocelyn Wilson (Merrick), LaVenia Montes (Rodney), Rynell Berryman (Jennifer), Larissa Robinson (Chris), Scott Gray, Megan Gray, Brandon Gray, and Jeremy Gray; nine great grandchildren, Xavier Terrell, Kema Bowles, Ava Bowles, Harlow Wilson, Carlos Carter, Jahmeer Dean, LaNia Montes, Ryker Berryman, Nia Robinson and Sheldon Robinson; and one great great grandchild, Trey Carter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ollie Gray; one brother, William Gray; and four sisters, Fannie Dade, Betty Gray, Emma “Sally” Gray and Rebecca “Becky” Gray.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 23, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Good Hope Baptist Church, 14123 Norman Rd., Culpeper, VA with Rev. Harrison Williams officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
