James Frederick Estep Sr.'s Obituary
James Frederick Estep, Sr., 63 of Culpeper died Friday, October 29, 2010 at University of Virginia Medical Center. Mr. Estep was born December 29, 1946 in Arlington, VA to the late James William Estep and Mrs. Christine Mae Kidwell Estep of Colonial Beach.
Mr. Estep enjoyed a long and passionate career for the telephone company, starting with C & P and retiring with Verizon as Manager of Building Operations. He was also an avid collector of antique phones and phone related devices and loved automobiles. In his leisure time, he enjoyed not only watching sports but participating thru exercise and tennis. He was an avid outdoorsman who hunted, boated and fished, including memorable deep sea fishing excursions in Ocean City. Above all, family and friends was one of his most enjoyable pastimes.
Mr. Estep is survived by three sons, Jon Estep of FL, Jim Estep, Jr. and his wife, Christy of Manassas and Joey Estep of Midland, the mother of his children, Carolyn Anderson and five grandchildren, Tyler, Hunter, J.B., Kyra, and Victoria Estep.
He is also survived by two sisters, Becki Baker of Locust Grove and Lauri Estep Deal of Culpeper and his companion, Natasha Mat-an.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 from 6 - 8 pm. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 1 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Sandy Martin officiating.
Family and friends will meet at 3 pm in National Memorial Gardens in Fairfax, VA for a committal service.
