James William Crane, Jr.'s Obituary
James William Crane, Jr., 82, died Friday, July 27, 2012 at The Willows at Meadow Branch in Winchester. He was born October 6, 1929 in Batnam, Virginia to the late James William Crane, Sr. and the late Lorelle Brown Crane.
Mr. Crane was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Korea during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Worth Crane, a daughter, Ellen O’Neal Cavanagh and her husband, Alan, of Winchester and a son, James William Crane, III, of College Park, Maryland. Additional survivors include three grandchildren, Hannah and Rachel Cavanagh and Jason Vaughn Dormio. He is also survived by a sister, Barbara Craig of Warrenton, and a brother, Harry Crane and his wife, Betty, of Boynton Beach, Florida.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 30, 2012 from 7-9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, Virginia.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Found and Sons chapel with Pastor Will White officiating.
Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 330 and VFW Post 2524.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1160 Pepsi Place, Suite 306, Charlottesville, Virginia 22901.
