James Philip Burnett Jr.'s Obituary
James Philip Burnett, Jr., 80, of Fredericksburg, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Hughes Home.
James attended Cornwallis High School in upstate New York. He worked as an accountant for the West Point Academy in New York just prior to serving in the US Army where he was stationed in Ft. Belvoir from 1954-1956 and later worked for the federal government as an accountant until he retired.
James is survived by his stepdaughter, Sue Ann Hamrick and her husband, Richard of Locust Grove; two grandchildren, Sandi Riggleman and her husband, Brad of Bridgewater and Lori Hamrick of Woodbridge; and one great-granddaughter, Shelby Riggleman of Bridgewater.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Ann Burnett.
A funeral service will be held at noon Friday, November 15, 2013 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. James’ family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, James’ family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the American Lung Association National Headquarters, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004.
