James Franklin Bailey, Sr.
James Franklin Bailey, Sr., 93, of Rixeyville died Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Mary Washington Hospital.
James was a farmer, homebuilder and the former owner of the Mobile home Park on Bailey’s Lane.
He is survived by his son, James F. Bailey, Jr. and his wife Mildred of Harrisonburg, his daughter, Dr. Rebecca K. Bailey and her husband Dr. John S. J. Burke of Fredericksburg, a grandson, Garry Louis “Lou” Marcus, II of Annandale, and Sandra “Sandy” Goodall his caregiver for many years that he loved as a daughter. He resided at Our Fathers Christian Home for the last nine months.
He is also survived by his sister in law Ida Bailey Brown and his brother in law Edward K. Roberts.
James was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Lucy Elizabeth Settle Bailey, and his siblings, George Bailey, Jr., Garfield Bailey, Forrest Bailey, Viola Plumline, and Beulah Roberts.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels, Culpeper with Pastor J. T. Pittman II officiating.
Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memory gardens in Jeffersonton.
Pallbearers named are Randolph Woodard, Pete Brown, John A. Jenkins, Phil Eggborn, Danny Bailey, and Paul Bates, Sr.
