Captain Jack Warren Boller's Obituary
Captain Jack Warren Boller, retired naval officer, former college basketball player, avid gardener, skilled poker player, and infamous cigar smoker, who loved dogs and hated cats, died peacefully in his sleep on Friday, December 30, 2022 at his home.
Jack was born in Newton, Kansas on July 9, 1925. He was a Kansas farm boy who grew up during the Great Depression, enlisted in the Navy after his High School graduation during WWII, was commissioned as a Naval Officer in 1945, and retired as a Navy Captain in 1971.
Jack was a devoted Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He is survived by his sons, John Warren (Catherine) of Denver, Stephen Lysle (Diane) of Charlottesville, Michael Ross (Patricia) of Spotsylvania, and Daniel Christian of Seattle; ten grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy (née Slattery), daughter, Lynn Ellen, and sons Andrew McCoy, and Patrick Kevin.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. He will be buried at sea by the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Ocean later in 2023. He will be missed.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
