Iris V. Corbin's Obituary
Iris V. Corbin slipped away peacefully on October 31, 2019 at the age of 81. She was born in Fries, VA on November 18, 1937 to the late Clayborne and Ruby Van Ness.
Iris was a true example of service above self. She was a wonderful cook and made the best homemade whipped cream. She enjoyed drinking coffee and finding yellow tomatoes and fresh peaches at the farmers market; it was the little things in life that meant the most to her. Iris was a sister, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, great grandmother and dear friend to many people. There will never be another soul to walk this earth, as special as her. Family was the most important thing to Iris.
In death, she leaves behind her loving husband of 56 years, Larry Corbin; her daughters, Marcie, Sharon (Trish) and Beth (David); her loving sisters, Hilda and Shirley; her brothers, Ed and Gary; and her grandchildren, Courtney (Seth), Amanda (Kurt), Victoria (Garth), Taylor, Corbin (Jessie), and Aidan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Joanne and Edith.
She left an abundance of people behind, that care so deeply for her. Her love will live on until time stands still, and even then, Iris’ love will move like air through the trees. Life will never be the same without you.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Culpeper United Methodist Church, 1233 Oaklawn Drive, Culpeper, VA with Pastor John Hemming officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery, 501 E. Chandler St., Culpeper, VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Hospice of the Piedmont, www.hopva.org or the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org
Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is serving the family.
