Imogene Hart's Obituary
Imogene Hart, 82, of Culpeper, Virginia passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024, at her residence. She was born May 24, 1942, to the late William and Lillie Hudgins.
Imogene and Bennie were married on June 16, 1962, in Buchanan, Tennessee. After marriage, Imogene and her husband made homes in several different states which included Kentucky, Missouri, and Virginia, where they had a daughter in each state. Imogene and Bennie decided to retire in 2005 to Paris, Tennessee where Imogene was born and raised. After living in their hometown of Paris for 9 years, they made their way back to Culpeper, Virginia in 2014 to be close to their daughters, grandchildren, and friends. Imogene took up sewing at an early age and made some of her own clothes and also clothes for her daughters. Imogene’s sewing skills ignited into becoming a gifted quilter. Her love for quilting also turned into a passion for collecting beautiful pieces of fabric she would craft into a quilting masterpiece. Imogene also was an avid shopper and loved thrift store shopping. She would often find that perfect article of clothing, jewelry, or something she felt was a treasure for her to display in her home or share with a loved one. Imogene was a long-time member of the Culpeper Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Bennie L. Hart; her daughters, Shelia Hart (Laura), Sharon May, and Karen Hester (Robert); her grandchildren, Kayla Deal (Jason), Cameron Hester (Wanda), Jeanette Kerns (Shane), Benjamin May, Robert Hester III, and Lily May; her great-grandchildren, Trenton, Natalie, Carter, Reagan, Leo, Oaklynn, Cole, Molly, Ryleigh and Malia.
