Howard R. Daniels
Howard Russell (Casey) Daniels died Sunday, July 1, 2007, at home. He was born July 27, 1922, in New Brunswick, Canada, to the late William H. Daniels and Annetta Mabie Daniels of New Hampshire.
Casey served in the U.S. Coast Guard on the USSCG Ingram. After his service Casey worked for the government at Quantico Marine Corps Base and Lorton Reformatory.
He loved fishing, camping and traveling. In the early 1990s he and his wife moved to Florida, returning to the area in late 1998. He also collected lots of recipes and enjoyed cooking for friends and family. Casey was a member of the American Legion, the VFW and Loyal Order of Moose.
Casey’s daughter, Deborah Daniels; brother, Arthur Daniels; and sister, Rosie Hood, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Bernice Daniels; son, Drake Daniels and his fiancée, Julie Landlofi, of Hudson, N.H.; daughter, Ellen Coolbeth of New Boston, N.H.; stepson, Robert Burton and stepdaughter, Shelby Wright, both of Fredericksburg; and sister, Alma Porter of Nashua, N.H. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice or Mary Washington Hospice. Awesome thanks to Kim Pack, Pat Hinton and Jeanette Mann for all caretaking needs and family support. Also thanks to Dr. Philip Casey and his staff.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at Found & Sons Funeral Chapels and Cremation Service, corner of Courthouse Road and Southpoint Parkway. Burial will be private.
