Horace Thompson Owens, Sr.
Horace Thompson Owens, Sr., 74, of Amissville, VA died Friday, April 9, 2021 at Fauquier Hospital, Warrenton. He was born December 29, 1946 in Fauquier County to Horace Owens and Betty Ann (Robertson) Owens.
Tommy is survived by his sons, Horace T. Owens, Jr. and Shaun Owens (Heather); his siblings, Andrew Owens, James Owens, Ronald “Ronnie” Owens, Barbara “Bobbie” (Glen) Perry and Eleanor “Jenny” Lillard; his grandchildren, Riley Owens, Gavin Owens, Carma Owens, Courtney Owens, Athena Owens and Isaac Owens along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Betty Owens; brother, Harold “Mike” Owens and sister, Patricia Weachter.
Tommy was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served in the 29th Infantry Division based out of Warrenton, Va. He loved driving his tractor trailer and seeing the countryside. Tommy was a loving and caring father and grandfather who loved to watch westerns, drag races as well as the Redskins. He wanted the best for everyone that he came in contact with; he had a big heart and a loving soul. Tommy cared about all of his family.
