Hilda Virginia Lawson's Obituary
Hilda Virginia Lawson, 79, of Rixeyville died Monday, July 21, 2008 at her residence. She was born November 9, 1928 in Amissville, VA to the late Henry Brent and Mattie Brown Brent.
Mrs. Lawson was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Amissville. She enjoyed knitting and was a loving, kind person who never had a harsh word to say. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who’s love and laughter will be missed.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest Lee Lawson, two children, William Henry Lawson, and his wife, Shelly of Rixeyville, Patricia Lee Lawson of Rixeyville, two sisters, Pearl B. Clark of Amissville, Mildred A. Eldridge, one brother, Cleveland Brent, and two sister-in-laws, Mary Louise Talbert and Josephine P. Lawson.
Additional survivors include four grandchildren, Larry N. “Dobie” White, Jr., William H. Lawson, Jr., Khristal Yvette W. Newsome and her husband, Rodney, and Tamansha Lawson and her husband, Henry, eleven great grandchildren, Tiesha Lawson, Anasia Snead, Raq Lawson, Jase Lawson, Zaikaya James, Khadijah James, Nadia Lawson, Henry Allmond, Jr., Rodney Newsome, Jr., Avianna Symone Newsome, and Delaney Jewel White, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jake Bernard Brent and a great granddaughter, Allaria Patrice White.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 25, 2008 at 12 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Amissville with Rev. Homer E. Jones officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Amissville.
