Hilda McTarnaghan's Obituary
Hilda Jones McTarnaghan, 90, of Culpeper died Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born May 31, 1919 in Alfred, NY to the late Irving Martin and Leona Place Jones.
Mrs. McTarnaghan worked as a Sales Associate for J.C. Penny until her retirement in 2007. She was a member of Warrenton Presbyterian Church and a former member of Alum Springs Baptist Church. She was also a member of Eastern Star and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in New York.
She is survived by her children, John McTarnaghan and his wife, Sondra of Warrenton, VA, Terrance McTarnaghan and his wife, Alice of Wilson, NC and Judith McTarnaghan of Culpeper, VA, one brother, Waldo Jones and his wife, Adele of Simsbury, CT, one sister, Mary Oliver and her husband, Andrew of Ithaca, NY, three grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Alexander McTarnaghan and five siblings.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Warrenton Presbyterian Church with Rev. Carrie Evans and Pastor Ron Young officiating.
