I just heard of your mother's passing as I visited Boston General Store today. She was a bridesmaid in my parents' wedding. My family and I stopped at her store several times through the years as we visited my grandparents in Slate Mills. Please accept my condolences.

I was late in learning of your Mother's passing. For us, Hilda was Boston. I cherished her phone calls and even after she moved away from Boston, she knew more about our little corner of the world than we ever did. She was a wonderful example to us all. I have many memories of the Boston Store from early childhood on. They will always be with me. I also remember how very much she cherished you and how proud she was of you. She will always be with you, even in this difficult time.

I had the pleasure of meeting Hilda around 7 years ago. Over the years we forged an intimate bond where she would weave me stories of her life growing up in Boston, her parents store, being post master and her family and friends. We would sit for hours talking just about everything. She reinforced the acts of charity, patience, God, and many other good qualities that I at times was lazy at doing. The most important lesson was the selflessness of giving ones time to someone. Thank you Hilda for making me a better person- I hope you meet another great lady in heaven-- my mother. Lisa Davis
We are so sorry for your loss and extend our condolences to each of you. Kathy, I have such wonderful memories of your Mom when I would visit my grandparents across from the Boston Store. She was always very friendly and a compassionate lady to everyone. I am blessed to have known her.
