Hilda Inskeep Apperson's Obituary
Hilda Inskeep Apperson, 92, of Culpeper died Sunday, August 25, 2019 at her residence. She was born July 6, 1927 in Culpeper to the late Phillip and Ella Mae Inskeep.
Mrs. Apperson was valedictorian of UVA School of Nursing and was the first RN at Culpeper hospital. She worked in the ICU for many years and was a volunteer for hospice.
She is survived by four sons, Joseph William Apperson, Jr. (Jill), and George Massie Apperson (Patricia Mary); Ashby Marks and Randy Marks (Connie); two sisters-in-law, Edith Brooks and Virginia Waldrop; and four grandchildren, Ben Marks, Jason Marks, Adam Marks and Nicholas Apperson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph William Apperson; and three sisters, Pauline Eggborn, Grace Harlow and Dorothy James.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 12 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Ron Young officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
