Herman Harrell Gaar Sr.'s Obituary
Herman Harrell Gaar, Sr., 74, of Spotsylvania County passed away Friday, July 22, 2011 at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center.
Harrell retired after 50 years as a T.V. repairman. He was an avid fisherman and gardener.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Standardsville and attended Holy Pentecostal Church in Wolftown.
Harrell is survived by his good friend and companion, Katie Somerville of Fredericksburg; two daughters, Brenda Kelley and her husband, Mike of Unionville and Susan Snow and her husband, Robert of Orange; a son, Harrell Gaar, Jr. of Covington; two grandchildren, Michelle Ratcliff of Unionville and Stevie Gaar of Gordonsville and two great grandchildren, Alyssa and Aaron Ratcliff, both of Unionville.
A graveside service will be held Monday, July 25, 2011 at 11:00 am in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2394 Mt. Zion Church Road, Oak Park, VA 22730 with the Rev. Frank James officiating.
