Herbert Anthony Theimer, ‘’Bud’’, 87, of Culpeper died Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Novant Health UVA Health System Culpeper Medical Center. He was born March 28, 1929 in Alexandria to the late John and Hildegarde Jaegar Theimer.
Mr. Theimer was a veteran of the US Navy and served his country during the Korean War.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis Hilburn Theimer; five children, Susan Martin of Locust Grove, Kathleen Hudson and her husband, Robert of Cartersville, GA, Michael Theimer and his wife, Brandon of Harrisonburg, Craig Theimer and his wife, Margaret of Bealeton, and Cynthia Smith and her husband, David of Chesapeake, VA; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
Additional survivors include three siblings, June Grimm and her husband, Norman of Annandale, Rita Tindal and her husband, David of Sterling and Elaine Johannemann and her husband, Ed of Alexandria.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Theimer, Jr. and Alan Theimer; one sister, Beverly Ireland; and one great grandchild, Daniel Grubb.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 11 a.m.at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery with military honors provided by Culpeper VFW Post 2524.
