Henry McGowan Jr.'s Obituary
Henry McGowan, Jr., 70, of Fredericksburg passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center.
Henry was an avid sports fan. He played little league baseball as a child, coached girls softball, and loved the NBA. Henry was very stylish and was always dressed well.
His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his heart and soul. He was very outgoing, friendly and enjoyed good times with his family and friends.
Henry is survived by the love of his life, Christine Lee; two daughters, Dehavelin Wright and her husband, Elex and Croshonda McGowan, all of Kansas; two sons, Darrell McGowan and his wife, Yolanda and Kelly McGowan, all of South Carolina; a stepson, Julian Lee and his wife, Sheree of Georgia; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Jones and her husband, Leo and Regina Render, all of California; a brother, Gregory McGowan of Ohio, and an aunt Maxine Ford of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Jessie McGowan; a son, Kevin McGowan, and a brother, Dwight McGowan.
Henry’s family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2013 in Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA.
