Henry Ford Ennis' Obituary
Henry Ford Ennis “Unk”, 84, of Hartwood passed away peacefully Friday, January 16, 2015 at Mary Washington Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born February 20, 1930 in Hartwood. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Lois. He is survived by his three daughters, Marlene, Ann, and Rose; six grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Henry, was a retired U.S. Army SFC. He joined the Army in 1947 and remained on active duty until his retirement in 1972. During his time in the Army, he served all over the world. He served in the Korean War, Vietnam with the First Air Calvary Division during the Tet Offensive in 1968, and with the U.S. Sky Marshall program. While on active duty, he received numerous service and campaign awards, including Bronze Star for Valor, multiple Army Commendation medals, Vietnam campaign and service medals, Combat Infantry badge, and three overseas service bars.
After retirement, he relocated to Hartwood and was employed by Southland Corp. and Fort A.P. Hill. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting, fishing, and gardening.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2015 in Quantico National Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to share their memories at his Hartwood home after the services.
