Helen Virginia West's Obituary
Helen Virginia West, 77, of Boston, VA died Friday, January 9, 2009 at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, WV. She was born October 28, 1931 in Clarksburg, WV to the late Harold F. Maxson, Sr. and Otella V. Junkins Orender.
Mrs. West was a member of Slate Mills Baptist Church. She was an avid book reader, enjoyed music and loved her two dogs, Jasper and Raven.
She is survived by her children, Myrna Lee Brooks and her husband Warner of Culpeper, VA, James Allen Hopkins and his wife, Roberta of Stafford, VA, her grandchildren, Kevin Lee Brooks, Sr. and his wife, N’Dora of Arlington, VA, James Allen Hopkins, Jr. of Wenatchee, WA, Jeremy Joseph Hopkins of Jasper, WO, Christina Adele Hopkins of Stafford, VA, and nine great grandchildren including, Kevin Lee Brooks, Jr. of Arlington, VA.
Additional survivors include her sister-in-law, Reta C. Maxson of Bridgeport, WV, one nephew, Keith A. Maxson and his wife, Melanie of Rosemont, WV, one niece, Crystal D. Haynes and her husband, John of Wileyville, WV, one special great nephew, Matthew K. Warder of New Martinsville, WV and special friends, Frank Smith of Anmoore, WV and Prudence Collins of Bridgeport, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby D. West and her brother, Harold F. Maxson, Jr.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike with Pastor Sandy Martin officiating. A one hour visitation will be held prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
