Helen Delores Brookman's Obituary
Helen Delores Brookman, 78, of Culpeper died Thursday, December 3, 2009 at her residence. She was born October 10, 1931 in Lignum to the late Jenephar Scott and Gladys Virginia Hitt Jones.
Helen was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post # 2524. She loved knitting for her grandchildren, great grandchildren and close knits and enjoyed reading and working in her flower garden.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Foan and her husband, Gordon of Providence Forge, VA, Michael Brookman and his friend Becky of Rixeyville and Rebecca Durrette and her husband, Donald of Culpeper.
Additional survivors include eight grandchildren, Michael Foan and his wife, Jennifer, Stephanie Wallace and her husband, Tim, Christopher Foan, Michelle Henshaw and her husband Jonathan, Matthew Brookman and his wife, Lisa, Brandon Howington, Cory Howington and Bobbie Jo Brown, and four great grandchildren, Jocelyn Henshaw, Isabella Henshaw, Jacob Wallace and McKenzie Wallace.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Eugene Brookman.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 6, 2009 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 12 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Denise Vogt officiating.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
