Helen D. Tyson's Obituary
Helen D. Tyson, 79, of Brandy Station passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023, at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was born April 27, 1944 in Washington D.C.
Helen was a very active member of Stevensburg Baptist Church where she was involved in numerous activities; including WMU Women’s Ministry and helping with the nursery on Sundays. The Church was her second family. She had a huge love for sports. You could find her cheering for the Redskins, Dale, Jr., and her beloved Fredericksburg Nationals. When not watching career sports, she could be found on the fields watching her number one players, and her grandchildren, and being their number one fan.
Helen is survived by her children, Todd “Billy” Tyson (Brenda), James Tyson (Karen), Thomas Tyson (Michele), Robert Tyson (Lan), and John Tyson (Michael); grandchildren, Michael Hoke (Molly), Ashley Lutz (Rob), Tyler Tyson (Jamie), Kyle R. Tyson, Kyle C. Tyson, and Brooke Tyson, Trent Tyson, Dillan and Liam Khan; great-grandchildren, Tanner, Carter, Axle, and Slate; and her siblings, Janice Farrell, Linda Tucker, Sandra Calderaro, and Jimmy Howell.
A visitation will be held Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held Friday, June 16, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Stevensburg Baptist Church, 19393 York Road, Stevensburg, VA 22741 with Pastor Jason Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Stevensburg Baptist Church Cemetery.
