Helen L. Tanner's Obituary
Helen L. Tanner, 75 of Culpeper, born in Jeffersonton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday February 11th 2013, at 4:05 p.m. at Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born on January 18, 1938 in Culpeper County, to the late Charles and Mary Morton.
She joined Rising Zion at an early age, and then she joined the Upper Zion Baptist Church where she was a faithful usher, a member of the Flower Club and a member of the choir. After leaving Upper Zion, She relocated with the Rising Zion Baptist church until her death. Helen was a true avid Redskins fan.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Patsy Tanner of Culpeper, Johnnie Tanner (Peewee) of Culpeper, Gregory Tanner of Jacksonville, FL, Monica Daye of Culpeper, Marsha Tanner of Atlanta, GA. Five siblings: Leslie Morton (Rabbit) of Jeffersonton, Alma Cropp of Jeffersonton, William Morton (Peterman) of Culpeper, Samuel Ferguson of Germany and Geraldine Coleman of Culpeper.
A public viewing will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 5 to 7 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 18, 2013 at 12 pm at Wayland Blue Ridge Baptist Church, 15044 Ryland Chapel Rd., Rixeyville VA.
Interment will follow in The Family Garden Cemetery in Jeffersonton.
Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is serving the family.
