Helen Frances Peppers' Obituary
Helen Frances Watson Peppers was born January 2, 1936 near Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
Her parents were Mattie Marie Nolan Watson and Everett John Watson. She was the fifth of six children and the only daughter. She had five brothers who adored her. She grew up in east Tennessee in the Gatlinburg and Oak Ridge areas. She was extremely proud of her southern and Tennessee heritage. She attended Clinton High School, but did not finish, instead choosing to elope with the love of her life, Ronald D. Peppers. They were married May 19, 1953. Shortly after this, Ronald joined the U.S. Navy. After moving several times, they settled in Prince George’s County, Maryland where they raised their three sons together. Ronald Darrell (1954), Gregory Lee (1957), and Richard Duran (1967). She had eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
For many years she was a loving and devoted mother who stayed home to raise her children. She had several part time jobs over the years and was active in church. She also sacrificed several years of her life to serve as a full-time caregiver for her mother-in-law. She was a cancer survivor and showed great strength and courage during the process. After the death of her beloved Ronald, she was able to spend much quality time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren which brought her great joy. Her family meant so much to her, and she was very proud of them. She was a godly woman with a tremendous faith and an amazing prayer warrior. Her greatest legacy to her family will be her faithfulness to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a true Southern belle, sweet and kind, and loved by all who knew her. She will be missed tremendously by all her family and friends.
Rest in peace, sweet angel, with our loving Lord and the saints gone on before you. We know you are in a happier place free of pain and heartache. How we will miss you here, but we rejoice knowing we will see you again in Glory. You will always have a place in our hearts. We love you!
