Helen Kam Chai's Obituary
Helen K. Chai passed peacefully on September 6, 2024 at the age of 89.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Julian (Bud) Chai; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Chai; and grandson, Jimmy Cook.
She is survived by her children, Julianne McGandy (Pat) of Santa Maria, CA, Julian (Buddy) Chai of Oceanside, CA, and Leslie Cook of Mineral, VA; grandchildren, Thomas Chai (Theresa), and Heather Darr (Joseph); and great-grandchildren, Cooper and Owen Chai, and Kayla, Joey and Austin Darr.
Helen was born in Honolulu HI where she married Bud. Bud served 23 years as a United States Marine so they lived in a number of states. Places they called home were HI, CA, WA and VA.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday September 21, 2024 at Bittersweet Farm, 15416 Shirley Road, Unionville VA 22567.
Interment with her beloved husband will be at 11:30 am, Monday October 7, 2024 at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl) 2177 Puowaina Drive, Honolulu, HI 96813.
