Helen Josephine Bowles Wilkins' Obituary
Helen Josephine Bowles Wilkins, 68, of Culpeper went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Mary Washington Hospital. Helen was born June 18, 1948 in Culpeper to the late Tommy Bowles, Sr. and Mary Burger Bowles.
Ms. Wilkins attended Bread of Life Church.
She is survived by four children, Melissa Corliss Harris and her husband, James, Sr., Irvin Douglas Bowles, Alanda Denise Burger and Paul Burger, all of Culpeper; nine siblings, Willie Bowles and his wife, Ann, Frankie Bowles, Sr. and his wife, Carolyn, Gregory Bowles and his wife, Sheryl, Russell Bowles, Patricia Lee and her husband, Wallace, Lillian Tyler and her husband, Oliver, Mary Bowles, Wanda Ford and her husband, Charles, Ann Worthy and her husband, Michael, two sisters-in-law, Rosa Bowles and Vivian Bowles; and “special sister”, Annie Jones and her husband, Howard.
Additional survivors include seven grandchildren, Corliss Bowles, Latoya Bowles, James Harris, Jr., Jada Harris, Nikiya Burger, Zy’Kee Williams and Zykirah Williams; and one great grandchild, Kamari Bowles; her great aunt, Margaret Rose; her uncle, Charles Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy Bowles, Jr. and George Bowles, Sr.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Vivian Bowles officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
