Heidi Sue Hicok Ekins' Obituary
Heidi Sue Hicok Ekins, 54, of Rixeyville, VA passed away at her residence December 1, 2016. She was born to George Kenneth and Susan Gallagher Hicok on July 3, 1962 in Mt. Arlington, New Jersey.
As a young girl Heidi danced under the tutelage of Phil Grassia in Dover, NJ. She continued dancing, competing and teaching into her twenties with The Dance Academy with Nancy Cruz in Northern New Jersey. Heidi’s passion in life was her 4 children, her grandson and her nieces. She was fondly referred to as “the baby whisperer” by her family. Her latest passion included the Houston Texans of which she was a loyal fan.
Heidi is survived by her husband, Richard A. Ekins, her children; Kira Nicole Ekins of Bristow, VA, Jessica Nicole Ekins, Richard Dallas Ekins, and Jonathan Samuel Ekins all of Culpeper, VA; one grandchild, Joseph Brayden O’neill of Bristow VA.; three brothers; Kenneth George Hicok and wife Hilda of Laguna Niguel, CA, Gary Andrew Hicok and wife Alissa of Blairstown, NJ., and Jody Kutz of Milford, NJ; and two nieces; Ella and Nora Hicok both of Blairstown, NJ.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 4 p.m. at Gourdvine Baptist Church, 7103 Eggsbornsville Road Rixeyville, VA 22737.
Burial will be private for the family at a later date.
