Heather Lynn Edgecombe's Obituary
Heather Edgecombe, 55, of Culpeper died on September 15. She was born in Huntsville, Alabama on July 16, 1968 to Bobby Gerald and Judy Owens. She is survived by her husband, Jarred; her mother, Judy(Wayne) Young; her sister, Sharron (Paul) Casola and stepbrother, Michael (Kim) Young; three children: Jordan (Hannah) Edgecombe, Jessica (Andrew) Alford, and Jeffrey (Katie) Edgecombe; and three grandchildren: Madison & Emily Kate Alford and Jake Edgecombe
After graduating from college, she married her husband, Jarred, and embarked on ministry alongside him for 35 years. They were able to serve together in churches in Hawaii, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and most recently Providence Bible Church in Culpeper.
Heather loved being creative. It came out in the way she decorated her house and her love for colorful things. Heather’s artistic abilities also extended to her clothing. She had a unique eye for timeless and classic pieces, and how to best put them together. She loved her Shelties, and they were her constant companions. Heather loved to read, especially World War 2 fiction. She worked as a librarian and formed many friendships through her love for reading. She loved to travel, especially to Israel and to Poland on mission trips.
Most of all, she loved Jesus and the life of ministry that God had given her. Over almost 35 years of ministry she worked in camp, taught teen girls’ Sunday school, women’s Bible studies, and loved to plan large women’s events. She hosted small groups and spent quality time discipling younger women around
her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Owens.
